Beautiful Louis XVI chest of drawers stamped Magnien, marked with precious wood and summoned with a magnificent and thick breach of Aleppo de Thonolet, with cut sides and a throat.
Claude-Mathieu Magnien (1741-1829) is a renowned Parisian cabinetmaker. Master in 1771, he successfully worked under the Empire. Towards the end of the reign of Louis XVI, he manufactures furniture for the crown.
This chest of drawers have three drawers whose facades have in the center a plating of rosewood in four leaves, in butterfly wings. This composition is surrounded by a large net composed of alternating lemon and ebony rectangles. Around, a rosewood frame positioned in vertical wire is delimited by a lemon fillet then a strip of violet wood.
These drawers open thanks to “ring” handles with Macaron. These are in chiseled bronze like the entrances to the center in the center, surmounted by a Louis XVI knot. The original locks are in perfect working order and accompanied by posterior bronze keys.
This piece of furniture is fitted with lobby cache, the sides and drawers are made of oak.
This chest of drawers are equipped with cut up sides, inlaid alternating lemon and ebony nets. Above, beautiful bronze falls adorn the amounts that end with slightly curved feet and a carved bronze hoof.
The sides have a large open -ended pink book veneer.
