Vintage Design
Rare Pastoe sideboard designed by Cees Braakman in the 1960s. The sideboard is made of wenge wood and stands on a sleek metal base. This version contains six drawers, four doors and 6 shelves. The top two drawers contain crockery holders and the third drawer is divided into separate compartments.
Cees Braakman was an important Dutch furniture designer who was best known for his wire steel chair designs for Pastoe.
Braakman has designed a lot for Pastoe and, according to the company, had a major influence on the company designs. He led the Pastoe design team from 1945-1978 and developed the company’s first post-war modern furniture line. Moreover, he provided a coherent collection of furniture with the emphasis mainly on functionality as utensils.
