Vintage Design
Great table or writing desk by Ate van Apeldoorn. Aestethic clean and angular lines, There are no decorative elements, all attention is focused on the appearance of the natural wood grain structure and the striking finger joint wood connection of the 3,5 cm thick panels. Van Apeldoorn’s work can be seen in the Mid-Century context of European Mid-Century functionalism, influenced by Gerrit Rietveld, Charlotte Perriand and Cees Braakman.
The use of pine wood also strongly refers to traditional Skandinavian furniture / Shaker style. This piece would make a great addition to Tapiovaara, Wegner or Mogensen collection. The compact design and the material evokes a warm and secure atmosphere.
(Drawer box, chairs and gadgets on the pictures not included).
