Vintage Design
A beautiful convertible sofa bed set from the Hungarian designer József Peresztegi from the art deco-bauhaus era. Classic elegant shape, art deco notes but at the same time the Bauhaus style is characterized by a steel tube curved frame embracing the bed. Completely renovated structurally, new chrome plating, reinforced-re-tied epeda springs, re-upholstered with Italian high-quality patterned velvet.
József Peresztegi, a well-known Hungarian bauhaus furniture designer between the two world wars, and the II. became one of the defining figures of the post-World War II period. He is a founding member of the Wood Industry Manufacturing Design and Editing Office, established in 1951, which was the main venue for furniture design in the ’50.
