Vintage Design
Of high Louis XVI neoclassical form, this commode features a versatile combination of three small upper drawers, and one concealed secret drawer behind them, over two larger drawers below, the two sections separated by a moulding that runs around the front of the piece. The main veneer is walnut but each of the drawer fronts are banded with inlaid panels of diamonds, the same design being utilised on the top, and the sides feature ebonised areas and inlaid stringing. The rounded everted corners to the front of the piece above fluted pilasters with terminate in toupie feet with ormolu toe mounts.
