Exquisite small comfortable or sauteuse, transition style between Louis XV and Louis XVI, made in France, around 1790, Jean-Charles workshop Ellaume. It presents an impressive of Marble Brech d’Alep that rests on a two -capacity mixed -recorded front front, with twin ormolu -shaped laurel leaf -shaped shooters. The dresser rises on Galveadas legs, the two strikers with Sablots. All these garrisons are golden bronze to mercury and then chiseled. However, this piece stands out for the marquetry that presents on three sides, where different fruit plates are used that provide a very rich tonal variety to the geometric pattern raised, in addition to other ornaments with chivalrous lazry. It is completed with the original locks. Fine and typical lines of the time, a comfortable of the highest quality, merit of a place of honor at home.
Transition style
Carried out just at the time of transition between Louis XV and Louis XVI style. During this period, characteristics of both styles were mixed, as can be seen in this piece. Louis XV identifies with Rococó, including a more profuse and detailed decoration, while Louis XVI contrasts with the previous Classical architecture. It is characterized by lightness, harmony and proportion, leaving aside the heaviness and excess of the styles it follows. It stands as a more discreet and elegant style.
