Early 1900’s Hand Crafted Whimsical Circus Carousel Birdcage With Mirror Accents

Wow! What a great hand-crafted birdcage from the early 1900’s. This was acquired from a Jupiter estate and said to be made by ‘George the German Carousel Savant.’ It has the look of a true circus carousel from the draping tent, to the galloping horses, and the oval mirrored details around the top. It is made of wood, metal and other materials all painted in shades of red, green, black and ivory. There’s an honest patina throughout with crackling paint, fading, and desilvering mirrors giving it an irreplaceable charm. It is fully functional as a birdcage with a working door and swing perch on the inside. There’s even a top hook for hanging. This beautiful piece would make a perfect home for your pet, or on its own as a whimsical sculptural piece of art.
